Jude Morris

Jude Morris

Jude is a first-year Questbridge scholar born and raised in small town Hollister, California. She is majoring in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in legal studies, and has plans to get her Master's degree in business after graduation. Jude has goals of working in a leadership position in foreign relations and public policy in a federal position and wants to make a difference in immigration, education, and unhoused rights. In addition to being a Kaplan Scholar and Deberry Civic Scholar, Jude is currently working for Northwestern's Political Science Department as a Data Entry Aide and Research Assistant. Jude is also excited to be a member of Associated Student Government, Effective Altruism, Mayfest, and is passionate about her volunteer work through Books and Breakfast. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, hiking, baking (albeit badly), and watching 50s horror movies. 

Rachel Yoon

Rachel was born and raised in Queens, New York, but later moved to Seoul, Korea. She is a second-year studying Journalism and Environmental Policy & Culture, with a minor in Asian American Studies. With her global perspective and love of connecting with others, Rachel hopes to telling the stories of marginalized communities through investigative and empathetic journalism. She is interested in building communities that can imagine alternative futures. In her free time, she likes to knit elaborate sweaters, read, and write on her blog.

Chantal Rodriguez

Chantal Rodriguez

Chantal is a freshman from Chicago, Illinois. She is on the pre-med track dedicated to improving healthcare access for underserved communities. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, drawing, and playing piano. As a first-generation student, she is highly involved with mentorship and mentors Latine high schoolers interested in the medical field. Chantal is excited to explore Rodgers Park and create meaningful change with her cohort throughout the program. 

Lyric Benford

Lyric is a second-year student from Palos Hills, Illinois. She is studying social policy on a pre-law track. She enjoys exercising, listening to music, thrifting, and trying new cafés and restaurants. She hopes to obtain my JD after undergrad and use her education towards advocating for those taken advantage of by America's legal system. She is passionate about correcting racial disparities within the law, thus she plans to work with wrongful convictions and towards the reformation of the carceral system.

Ridhima Kodali

Ridhima is a sophomore born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a second-year student studying Journalism and Social Policy at Northwestern. Ridhima is passionate about serving others and is committed to addressing education reform and highlighting underrepresented voices through journalism. She is currently involved in Supplies for Dreams, Undergraduate Prison Education Partnership, The Dolphin Show, Books and Breakfast, and many other organizations at Northwestern. She hopes to pursue a career related to policy in the human rights/non-profit sector someday. In her free time, she loves to dance, read, and watch movies with her mom whenever she has a chance. 

Noor Maghaydah

Noor is a second year student from New York but currently lives in Jordan. She is currently on the Pre-Law track studying Political Science and Learning and Organizational Change with a minor in International Studies. Noor is passionate about issues such as international law, immigration rights and advocating for criminal justice reform. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, exploring Chicago, and journaling.

Ayesha Mohammad

Ayesha Mohammad

Ayesha is a third year student from Gurnee, Illinois. She is studying Cultural Anthropology and American Studies with a minor in Data Science. She is interested in researching the impacts of foreign policy on diasporic American communities and discourses regarding gender in contemporary Muslim American communities. She plans to pursue a career in academia or perhaps become a high school teacher... In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, riding her bike, and drinking blue raspberry slushies!

Emani Larkin

Emani is a sophomore who was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She is majoring in Psychology on the pre-law track and she intends to pursue law school after graduation. She is passionate about addressing socioeconomic and racial inequalities in the public health sector, especially regarding responses to pandemics and environmental racism. Emani loves to dance, write poetry, read, and go thrifting. She is so excited to build community and learn from the breadth of experiences in Rogers Park!

Sydney Gaw

Sydney grew up in Irvine, California. She is a second-year journalism student at Medill hoping to double major in creative writing with a minor in Asian American studies. Sydney currently writes for the Daily Northwestern and nuAZN, and she serves as a member of the Helicon literary magazine staff. In her free time, she enjoys writing fiction, playing lacrosse, and going on walks with her cat, Hermione. She is passionate about social justice and community activism, which is why she looks forward to connecting with local communities as a DeBerry Civic Scholar. She hopes her experiences in the program will enrich her perspective as a writer and journalist.

Chloe Campbell

Chloe is from Highland, Indiana and went to highschool on the Southside of Chicago. She is a junior majoring in Psychology, minoring in Legal Studies and Creative Writing, and pursuing a leadership certificate. She is on the Dance Marathon executive board and is currently interning at the Marjorie Kovler Center for torture survivors. Chloe is passionate about service work, social justice (particularly wrongful conviction and mass incarceration), mental health, and violence intervention. She enjoys listening to true crime podcasts, reading fiction, and watching movies. After Northwestern, she hopes to become an FBI agent and combine her passion for criminal justice and psychology to make a meaningful impact in her community.

Seneca Christie

Seneca is a sophomore from Vancouver, Washington. She is currently studying Psychology and International Studies with a minor in Chinese. In her free time, Seneca enjoys reading, boxing, and spending time with friends. She is incredibly passionate about advocating for the legal rights of indigenous peoples and plans to pursue a career in public service.

Yitong is a sophomore student from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is majoring in Dance and Political Science, with a minor in Legal Studies. She is passionate about educational equity and hopes to contribute to institutional changes through civic engagement. In her free time she enjoys reading, listening to music, and trying out new cafes.

Jessica Chen

Jessica is a second-year student from Chicago but has also lived in many other parts of the Midwest throughout her life. She is majoring in Human Development in Context and Asian American Studies and intends to pursue a career in law, focusing on immigration or education. In her free time, she enjoys running, sprinting, and driving. 

Aizam Rahman

Aizam is a first-year from Singapore with a passion for bridging the gap between theory and practice. He is particularly interested in connecting disciplines, experiences, and perspectives at Northwestern. In his free time, he loves meeting new people, volunteering with youth organizations, and exploring new places. He ultimately hopes to play a prominent role in policymaking and contribute to positive social change after his time here at Northwestern.

Nahla is a second year student from Potomac, Maryland. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends while trying new restaurants. She studies Learning and Organizational Change and International Studies and is very passionate about global issues (specifically in Africa) and bridging the wealth gap.
